Overview

Moxifloxacin Infusion is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic administered intravenously for the treatment of serious bacterial infections. It is generally given once daily by slow IV infusion over at least 60 minutes. Rapid administration may cause an increased heartbeat or dizziness; therefore, the infusion rate must always be carefully controlled.

Dosage and Administration

• Route: Intravenous infusion only

• Frequency: Once daily (as prescribed by the physician)

• Infusion time: Minimum 60 minutes

• Transition to oral therapy: Patients who can tolerate oral medications may be switched to an appropriate oral antibiotic to complete the treatment course.

• Drink plenty of fluids unless otherwise directed by your physician. If oral intake is not possible, fluids may be provided intravenously.
