Here’s a detailed overview of Vardenafil Tablets:

1. What it is:
Vardenafil is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It belongs to the class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors, which help increase blood flow to the penis during sexual arousal.

2. Common uses:

  • Treatment of erectile dysfunction

  • Sometimes used off-label for other conditions under doctor supervision, but its primary use is ED

3. How it works:

  • During sexual stimulation, the body releases nitric oxide, which increases levels of a chemical called cGMP in the penis.

  • Vardenafil blocks the enzyme PDE5, which normally breaks down cGMP.

  • Higher cGMP levels cause the blood vessels in the penis to relax and fill with blood, resulting in an erection.

  • Sexual stimulation is required for the drug to work.

4. How it is taken:

  • Taken orally, usually 30–60 minutes before sexual activity.

  • Can be taken with or without food, but a high-fat meal may delay its effect.

  • Do not exceed the prescribed dose in 24 hours.

5. Precautions:

  • Not to be taken with nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin) due to risk of severe low blood pressure.

  • Inform your doctor if you have heart problems, low blood pressure, liver or kidney issues.

  • Limit alcohol intake as it may reduce effectiveness or increase side effects.

6. Possible side effects:

  • Headache, flushing, or dizziness

  • Nasal congestion

  • Indigestion or stomach discomfort

  • Rare: vision changes, prolonged erections (priapism), or sudden hearing loss

7. Important advice:

  • Do not take more than the prescribed dose.

  • Seek immediate medical attention for prolonged or painful erections.

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
